Tuesday Tutorial - Recycled Dimples Ornament

Why did I choose this tutorial to share with you, you may be asking? Several reasons, actually. First and foremost, I LOVE the name! Second, I also LOVE Christmas ornaments! And finally, well, Angie Hall Haviland is one of our many talented members and expert tutorial-writers!!!

Now, take a good look at the photo of this project.....can you tell what the base of this ornament is? Do you know what a "dimple" is? I'll give you one hint...NO, it's not a lid! Give up???? Click HERE to find out and to read Angie's tutorial for these wonderfully creative ornaments. Be sure to add this one to your favorites, 'cuz you're gonna want to make a boat-load of these.....I know I do!!!

Thanks for tutorial, Angie!

We had 11 treasure hunters this past Monday, and flurrsprite (of Honolulu, Hawaii!) was chosen by random drawing as our winner! What did she select as her prize? The Taste of Texas goodie box from the team shop, "so she could sample more of us!"

Thank you to everyone who participated and made this such a fun event! Look for more Texas Treasure Hunts on the 2nd Monday of each month!

Up and Running?

Originally posted on November 17, 2007 by Christy of ChristysQuilts

What has everyone been up to? We're coming upon the holiday season when everyone gets busy and no one has time to blog and crafting takes a back seat (unless you're crafting for gifts - then it takes front and center - anyway, you get my drift).

I've been busy opening my second Etsy shop. I know the Etsy 'powers that be' frown upon it, but my lip balms and other bath and body stuff don't fit in my Christy's Quilts shop at all. Even with the use of sections. My new shop is called The Plaid Mushroom. It's mostly just lip balms, but I'm working on some solid perfumes and possibly some soap, though that takes a long time to cure so it won't be ready by Christmas. I love my little plaid mushroom so much I made a transfer and have put it on Tshirts, hoodies and totebags. One of the totes is listed in my shop - the Tshirt and the hoodie, which I only made one each of so far, are mine.

The Bath and Beauty category is so overrun and I know it'll be hard to compete, but I'm making them anyway, so why not give it a shot. It's fun making these things and I'll be able to use them as/for/with Christmas gifts.

As for my primary shop, it's taking a rest. My husband and I are trying to sell our house, so my sewing room is getting packed up. I can bring it all out for custom orders, but otherwise, I'm not making new items. All the items in the shop are already made up and can ship out immediately if they are bought. FYI, there's still plenty of time to ship to ensure Christmas arrival.

Take a peak around at my shops. Let me know it was you, and I'll do the same for you. Maybe we can find things in each others shop we just can't live without!
